These herbs are known for their soothing and healing properties, that may help ease pain, reduce inflammation and swelling associated with piles and to support the healing process.

How to prepare herbs:

Place about a handful of herbs into the drawstring muslin bag provided (this works like a big tea bag).
Put the sachet in a non-metallic receptacle and pour on hot water.
Allow to steep for about 10 minutes.
Pour the herbal liquid in your peri-bottle, for use while seated on the toilet.
Alternatively, soak soft cloths or cotton wool pads in the herbal liquid.
Julie finds the square cotton wool pads used to remove makeup are the ideal size and texture.
Put in a zip-lock bag, and cool in the freezer for a while. The cold pads can then be placed on the affected area.

**The herbal sachet & liquid can also be placed in a sitz bath (a basin big enough for you to sit in).

Rroid-Rid Bath and Compress Herbs contain:

Plantain (Plantago lanceolate)–
Has a soothing, cooling effect and is considered an effective remedy or healing haemorrhoids.

Nettle (Urticia dioica) –
A strong astringent useful for cuts, sores and haemorrhoids.

Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) –
An astringent, curbs bleeding and reduces inflammation, pain, itching and swelling.

Calendula (Calendula officinalis) –
Anti-septic, soothes wound inflammation, useful for general wound healing.

St. John's Wort -
Along with Comfrey, relieves pain and reduces inflammation and swelling.

Comfrey (Symphytum officinale)-
Promotes new cell growth and controls bleeding. A great overall healer. Not to be taken internally. Do not use on broken skin.

Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) -
An astringent, a circulatory tonic, with anti-inflammatory properties. Improves microvascular circulation and reduces swelling.
